Privacy is possible, Signal makes it easy.
Using Signal, you can communicate instantly while avoiding SMS fees, create groups so that you can chat in real time with all your friends at once, and share media or attachments all with complete privacy. The server never has access to any of your communication and never stores any of your data.
Signal uses an advanced end to end encryption protocol that provides privacy for every message every time. Also, it is Free and Open Source, enabling anyone to verify its security by auditing the code. Signal is the only private messenger that uses open source peer-reviewed cryptographic protocols to keep your messages safe.
It uses your existing phone number and address book. There are no separate logins, usernames, passwords, or PINs to manage or lose.
Another feature is to allow you to create encrypted groups so you can have private conversations with all your friends at once. Not only are the messages encrypted, but the Signal server never has access to any group metadata such as the membership list, group title, or group icon.
The protocol is designed to operate in the most constrained environment possible, so messages are instantly delivered to friends. Make crystal-clear phone calls to people who live across town, or across the ocean, with no long-distance charges.
- The image editor includes a new highlighter tool, an enhanced color picker (with history).
- Smoother lines, better text/sticker handling, and a full-screen style that gives your inner artist more external room.
- Signal’s icon is now fully adaptive. Let your tears of joy match the teardrop shape in your favorite launcher, or choose between circles, squares, rounded squares, and squircles.

User's review I used to love this app. However, as of late I am unable to return messages from some important contacts in my contact list. A red (!) appears and gives no reason why, or how, I should deal with it. I have deleted and reinstalled the app and have also revered to restoring my phone to factory settings with no improvement. This app used to be a great asset for privacy; my whole family uses it. However I am not sure if I will be able to continue to use it if this is not covered in the future ty
