Google Play Store 6.1.12

google play store

Google Play, which was originally born and referred to by Google as the Android Market, is Google’s official store and portal for Android apps, games and other content for your Android-powered phone, tablet or Android TV device. Just as Apple has its App Store, Google has the Google Play Store.

The latest version is 6.1.12. The biggest difference we can see is the new-look font in the search bar alongside other features designed around Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

To make it work, download the app and install it like any other APK. You need also Google Play Services.

How to install:

  • Enable ‘Unknown Sources’ by going to Settings > Security, then ticking the box next to Unknown sources. Don’t be alarmed, unknown sources are simply locations outside of the Play Store, which is critical if it’s the Play Store itself that you want. (Don’t forget to uncheck this option once you’re done)
  • Download APK
  • Open the APK (you can tap the completed download in your notifications menu), read the new permissions (if any) that the new Play Store version requests, then tap Install.

You are about to download the Google Play Store app for Android 2.3 and up.
